Kuan Yin is one of the most popular and beloved deities in Buddhism, especially in East Asia. She is also known as Guanyin, Quan Yin, or Avalokitesvara in Sanskrit. She represents the ideal of compassion, empathy, and forgiveness. She is also a source of inspiration and guidance for many people who seek her blessings and protection. She is said to manifest whenever there is someone who needs her help.
According to one legend, Kuan Yin was born as a princess who refused to marry and wished to become a nun instead. Her father was angry and forced her to do hard labor at home. She endured the suffering with patience and kindness, and eventually escaped to a monastery. She then ascended to heaven, but heard the cries of the world and decided to return to earth to help all sentient beings.
